Globally, hospitals, healthcare delivery organizations and governments are implementing or considering implementing an electronic health record system. We present the results of Gartner's first comprehensive evaluation of vendors of integrated enterprise EHR systems for the global market.
Gartner notes
"With rising pressure to cut healthcare costs, while enhancing the quality of care, private and government-owned healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) are increasingly implementing clinical automation solutions, especially enterprise EHR systems," according to Gartner. "We believe that integrated EHRs will prevail, but it will take time," Gartner observed. In addition, the analyst firm pointed out that "HDOs seeking an enterprise EHR system have qualitatively better options to choose from today than previously."
