This problem exists for customers who use one of the following versions and the new Clinical Viewer. The Classic Viewer is not affected:
- HealthShare Information Exchange 2018.1
- HealthShare Unified Care Record 2019.1
- HealthShare Clinical Viewer 2019.2, 2020.1, 2020.2, 2021.1, 2021.2, 2022.1
When a HealthShare Clinical Viewer user selects a patient name from the Patient Search Results page, it may take some time before the patient data loads into Viewer. During this initial load time, the time out clock is not active and does not restart until the patient data displays. If a user leaves without logging out, and the data does load, there may be privacy or security concerns.
This has been corrected in the 2022.2 release. Customers using the new Clinical Viewer on the versions shown above should remind users to always log out.
The new timeout behavior, including a configuration registry key is now documented.
An ad hoc patch to correct the issue is available for older versions. Please contact the Worldwide Response Center (WRC) and refer to HSCV-11233.
