Darmstadt, Germany – January 23, 2001 – The focus of the InterSystems “e-Gallery” at CeBIT 2001 (hall 2, stand B50) will be Caché 4. Specially developed with a view to the need for powerful, highly scalable database software for e-business applications the new version of the post-relational database is the first true e-DBMS.
Caché 4 has extensive functions for developers of e-applications. At the center of these is Caché Server Pages technology, for the rapid development and high-performance execution of dynamic Web applications. Caché Server Pages make it possible to integrate code-based and tag-based development, so that programmers and Web site authors can work simultaneously on the development of Web applications. As a result, the time to market clearly reduced a substantial competitive advantage in the e-business arena.
Along with Caché Server Pages, Caché 4 has a number of additional functions that are optimized for the development of Web applications. Included among these is support for complex search queries, which are required in many e-business environments. Here, Caché 4 brings powerful search functions that are typical for business intelligence into the world of transaction-processing online databases. In addition, the new version provides support for several scripting languages (including Caché Basic), a gateway for transparently accessing relational legacy databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, and a two-track direct connection between Caché objects and XML.
At CeBIT, visitors can see the qualities of the e-DBMS for themselves and try out its capabilities using the following partner applications:
- Libero from Lib-IT
- @net Manager from Intraprend
- ScoutMaster from ScoutResearch
