Bring your laptop to the Experience Lab and engage with our technologies in a whole new way!
Throughout the Summit, we will offer “experiences” focusing on the newest of our new technologies. Each experience will start with a brief introduction, outlining a particular task. Then you will be set free to complete the task, using one or more of our new technologies as you do so. Each experience should take about 45 minutes to complete. Sales engineers and other experts will be on hand to offer advice and assistance.
The Experience Lab is located in the Tech Exchange (Grand Oaks Ballroom K,L, &M). Space in the Experience Lab is limited. Sign up in advance as part of the registration process for the Global Summit. Experiences will be repeated to allow flexibility in scheduling.
Smart Search with NLP and ML
Monday, 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM
Monday, 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM
Tuesday, 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
In this experience, you will build a Smart Search Engine application with InterSystems IRIS by leveraging natural language processing, machine learning, and Java. Your application will collect documents based on selected search criteria, process and analyze the data, and create a list of the most relevant articles, along with a summary of each. The building blocks of this project are applicable to many use cases.
Building SMART on FHIR Apps with InterSystems FHIR Sandbox
Monday, 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Tuesday, 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
Wednesday, 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
Want to use InterSystems FHIR Sandbox to refine and test your application against realistic patient data? In this workshop, you will create a simple SMART on FHIR app, then customize, register, and test it on the Sandbox. You’ll experience the power of InterSystems FHIR Sandbox as a useful tool in developing and testing your own SMART on FHIR apps.
Ripping the Monolith Apart: InterSystems IRIS and Microservices
Monday, 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Tuesday, 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Wednesday, 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM
This experience teaches how you can upgrade or replace a monolithic legacy application in a piecemeal fashion. The trick is to break the application into multiple “microservices” that can be put into containers. We’ll show you how to do that, and explore the potential benefits of monitoring, scaling, and improving individual parts of your application.
InterSystems HealthShare and the Patient Journey
Monday, 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
Tuesday, 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM
This experience demonstrates how to use the combination of HealthShare Information Exchange, Health Insight, and Personal Community to solve real world problems in healthcare. You will work with and configure a set of notifications and actions that are triggered when our example patient (Isabelle) is admitted to a hospital emergency department (ED). You will learn how the HealthShare family of products ensures that all of the relevant members of Isabelle’s care team are properly informed of her ED admission.
