COMPANY: InterSystems Australia

CHALLENGE: A cascade of requests erupted from customers all over Australia asking for help with interfaces for new laboratory analyzers to test for SARS-CoV-2.

OUTCOME: Working collaboratively to compile a list of currently interfaced analyzers saved valuable time and effort and the collaboration helps front-line laboratories deliver test results without delay.

A cascade of requests from customers all over Australia asking for help with interfaces for new laboratory analyzers to test for SARS-CoV-2 erupted since the first request by St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney just last month.

Adjusting to these urgent demands, the InterSystems Lab team contacted customers directly and tracked progress of each need in our TrakCare Resolution Center (TRC). We jumped on the requests right away, building interfaces for the new analyzers as fast as possible. In one case, the new interface was even delivered ahead of the arrival of a new analyzer itself (see InterSystems Helps Aus. Laboratories in the Fight Against COVID-19).

As the demand for COVID-19 testing continues to ramp up, laboratories and hospitals are working to increase capacity for specimen collection and efficient processing in the lab. It is a familiar scenario that resonates globally.

Working collaboratively to compile a list of currently interfaced analyzers has saved valuable time and effort – but more importantly, the collaboration is helping front-line laboratories deliver test results without delay. To date, sites have completed thousands of novel coronavirus tests, and the workload will increase as governments extend the criteria for testing.

Below is a list of interfaced analyzers used for SARS-CoV-2 testing. We can deploy these pre-built interfaces very quickly. If your analyzer is not listed below, please contact your local InterSystems representative. We are here to support the laboratories and hospitals during these uncertain times by making sure there are no delays in getting test results to the care providers.
