This problem affects the following products:
- All versions of Unified Care Record
Requirements:
- IHE XDS.b
- Document Attachments
- Either of the following non-default settings selected in the HS.IHE.XDSb.Repository.Services business service:
- DeleteProvideAndRegisterAttachments
- DeleteRetrieveAttachments
Customers who process XDS.b documents with attachments and have selected either the DeleteProvideAndRegisterAttachments or the DeleteRetrieveAttachments setting are affected by this issue. These settings are deselected by default.
Document attachments are typically purged on a regular basis along with interoperability messages. These settings were intended to purge XDS.b attachments immediately after processing. Contrary to that intention, these settings instead caused only references to the attachment data to be removed, thus leaving behind orphaned document stream data that is not removed in the message purge.
The operational risk is that growth of the orphaned data might cause storage exhaustion.
The corrections for this defect are identified as:
- HSDD-5197
- HSDD-6249
- HSDD-6260
They are included in version 2026.1 of HealthShare and all future product releases. They are also available for older versions via ad hoc change file (patch) or full kit distribution by contacting the Worldwide Response Center (WRC). If you require assistance in removing orphaned attachment data, contact the WRC.
