Growing markets in Central and Northern Europe will receive improved customer care
DARMSTADT, Germany —July 6, 2011— InterSystems Corporation, has announced that Thomas Leitner has been named the Regional Managing Director. In this newly-created position, he is responsible for coordinating the markets in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The business professional has previously served in a variety of sales and management functions – including at SAS Institute, FileNet (today part of IBM), and as CEO of MIS GmbH (now Infor). Thomas Leitner served most recently as Senior Vice President for the Mainframe Business in Europe, The Middle East, and Africa at CA Technologies. A native Tyrolean, Leitner is married and has two children.
“InterSystems is one of the few software companies that goes beyond focusing on excellent technology and customer orientation. It actually lives these values,” said Thomas Leitner. “Customers and application partners want a partner like this, who helps them with their business. Not someone who treats them like a licensee, with a focus on nothing but quarterly results.” In his new role as Regional Managing Director, his first task will be to understand the goals of customers and partners, and position himself as their advisor.
The new Regional Managing Director position was created at InterSystems to further drive growth in the Central and Northern European markets, and better serve the customers and application partners there. “I am extremely happy we were able to get an experienced market expert like Thomas Leitner for this task,” said Jörg Klingler, Group Director at InterSystems. “Among the reasons for the success and growth at InterSystems is the fact that we react quickly and efficiently beyond national borders, while keeping in mind the features unique to each region. To that end, establishing a Regional Manager for Central and Northern Europe is a logical step that will enable us to provide those customers with the best possible care while better coordinating these growing markets.”
