Rapid Integration for Real-time Executive Dashboard System Drives Choice
Cambridge, Mass. – February 14, 2005 – InterSystems Corporation today announced that The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) has chosen the Ensemble universal integration platform for its executive dashboard integration project. The announcement was highlighted at the HIMSS 2005 conference in Dallas, Texas.
The leading application platform provider in healthcare, InterSystems develops and markets the CACHÉ post-relational database and the Ensemble universal integration platform. A non-profit, academic multi-specialty medical group practice in Washington, D.C., the MFA includes over 270 physicians and 41 medical and surgical specialties and is known worldwide for its academic and clinical medical specialties. The MFA has earned a reputation as an early adopter of breakthrough clinical technologies that have transformed patient care. Most recently, the MFA set a new standard for rapid implementation of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) by bringing over 100 physicians live in less than 30 days.
Rapid Rollout of Executive Dashboards
Ensemble is being used to build an extensive executive dashboard system that will provide executives, department chairpersons and administrators with a real-time view of over 30 key financial, clinical and operational performance indicators, based on data culled and aggregated from nine disparate applications. “We have an extremely aggressive implementation plan, going from design to rollout in about 30 days,” said Stephen Badger, CEO of the MFA. Ensemble’s rapid integration and portal development features, coupled with its pre-built components for automating real-time monitoring and reporting, will enable the medical group practice to roll out into production very quickly.
The ability to integrate a wide range of clinical and operational applications and rapidly develop a complex, but easy-to-use executive dashboard system were the main criteria behind the selection of Ensemble, according to Badger. “Based on the speed of completing the proof of concept, we were confident that we would meet our implementation schedule objectives,” Badger commented. The executive dashboard system is due to be launched in February.
“Integration of information from across the enterprise in order to support improved operational decision-making is especially important to healthcare organizations in today’s increasingly competitive market environment,” noted Trevor Matz, InterSystems Managing Director, Ensemble. “This innovative integration project, which leverages our real-time Business Activity Monitoring functionality, illustrates why GW Medical Faculty Associates is regarded as a leader in creative utilization of information technology for optimum, cost-effective care delivery.”
