Recognized as Top Product in International Competition

Cambridge, MA — December 7, 2004 — InterSystems Corporation today announced that its Ensemble universal integration platform has won the prestigious Product of the Year Award at this year’s Information Management Awards. The award was presented at a gala dinner held on December 2nd in London. Ensemble enables exceptionally fast integration of existing applications, and extremely rapid composite application development.

InterSystems’ Ensemble was selected over 49 other finalists in industry sectors ranging from mobile communications to software security and from telecommunications to document management.

Now in their ninth year, the Information Management Awards are the premier European recognition of excellence and innovation in the management of business information. The blue riband Product of the Year Award is given to the contender which, in the opinion of an independent judging panel of more than 40 leading industry observers, represents the best information management product overall.

Commenting on the award, Trevor Matz, InterSystems Managing Director of Application Integration says, “dramatically reducing the time, cost and effort involved in addressing the wide range of complex integration challenges facing organizations today, continues to be the primary design goal of Ensemble.” Matz continues, “We are honored and delighted that our efforts have received such important industry recognition.”

Roger Gibbons, managing director of award organizers for Elan Conferences comments, “the outstanding overall quality of this year’s entries demonstrates that many companies have achieved significant business benefits through the development and deployment of pioneering technological solutions. Award winners deserve all the accolades they will receive from being publicly acknowledged as industry leaders.”

Launched in an integration market crowded with product suites and technology assemblies, Ensemble stands out as the only application integration platform to incorporate the functionality of integration and application servers, a high performance database, and a unified development and management environment in a single, architecturally consistent product. Ensemble’s unique architecture enables it to address even the most complex integration projects far more rapidly and cost-effectively than is typical with other integration technologies. Complementing this top-tier technology is a business model predicated on partnering with system integrators, implementation partners and application partners — a unique partner-centric approach that enables InterSystems to focus on technology innovation and customer service excellence exclusively.

As a result, InterSystems’ Ensemble is rapidly increasing market share worldwide, with especially strong growth in healthcare, financial services and government sectors. “We’re competing very effectively in scenarios where integration and development projects converge, especially those that result in new composite applications,” according to Matz.
