InterSystems Evaluated for “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute”

Cambridge, Mass.—June 19 , 2007— InterSystems Corporation, makers of the Ensemble rapid integration platform, today announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s Magic Quadrant for Application Infrastructure for Composite-Application Projects, 2Q071.

Widely recognized for the expertise and in-depth research that goes into compiling these reports, each Gartner Magic Quadrant is divided into four sectors—Leaders, Challengers, Niche Players and Visionaries. InterSystems was named to the Leaders quadrant based on “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute.”

Citing ability to execute and completeness of vision as evaluation criteria, the Gartner report stated that “Leaders in this market are vendors with a proven and comprehensive composite-application-oriented product set, a sizable installed base of reasonably happy clients using their products to support composite applications end to end (for example, from user interface management to integration with established back-ends), an ample installed base of applications or application infrastructure platforms to which they can cross-sell their composite-application-oriented products, and a demonstrated ability to anticipate technology and market trends by extending their offerings with composite, application-enabling technology.”

The report continued, “They also manifest their understanding and commitment to the market by providing specific packaging of their product suites for supporting composite applications, or offering specialized products or packaged composite applications, and proactively pursuing the application infrastructure for composite-application projects opportunity through focused marketing messages and value propositions, and through specific sales strategies.”

Ensemble is a comprehensive integration platform that utilizes a single, architecturally consistent technology stack incorporating the functionality of an integration server, data server, application server, and portal development software. Ensemble-based projects are deployed in commercial and government organizations worldwide.

“Ensemble’s popularity in public and private sectors has been a result of the innovative and comprehensive nature of InterSystems’ technology,” said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems Vice President of Strategic Planning. “It is gratifying that InterSystems has been placed in the Leaders sector less than four years after the launch of Ensemble. We are pleased that Gartner, Inc. has evaluated us for our ‘completeness of vision’, and our ability to execute on our vision.”
