CAMBRIDGE, MA – May 3, 1999 – InterSystems Corporation today raised the competitive bar in the database market by announcing a moneyback offer for new purchasers of Caché post-relational database software. Headquartered in Cambridge, InterSystems is the global leader in high performance database systems for transaction processing applications.

This “Caché-back” promotion provides a satisfaction guarantee on Caché database licenses purchased for new application development before December 1, 1999. Details about this offer can be found on InterSystems’ Web site (www.intersystems.com).

“This offer is consistent with our focus on successful application deployments,” says InterSystems’ vice president of strategic planning Paul Grabscheid. “Where other database vendors reap a significant portion of their revenues from development projects – whether or not they result in successful applications – more than 98% of InterSystems’ revenues come from successful deployments.”

Caché enables developers to use familiar programming tools and languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic, Delphi, ActiveX, Java, C++, SQL, and HTML. Additionally, Caché provides object-enabled technology and Caché WebLink Developer, an integrated connectivity component for rapid development of high-performance Web applications.

Platforms and Pricing

The Caché post-relational database is offered in five configurations. These range from Caché PC for standalone, single-user systems, to Caché Enterprise for large configurations. Prices range from $130 to $1,035 per concurrent user. Caché runs on Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Linux (Red Hat version), OpenVMS, and major UNIX platforms.
