Inner South Community Health Service, MonashLink Community Health Service and ISIS Primary Care Join Western Region Health Centre and Bendigo Community Health Services in Benefiting from Multi-Million Dollar Victorian HealthSMART Rollout

Melbourne, Australia – May 27, 2008 – InterSystems today announced that Inner South Community Health Service, MonashLink Community Health Service and ISIS Primary Care have joined the growing list of Victorian Community Health agencies improving the delivery of healthcare services through the implementation of InterSystems TrakCare software, a Web-based healthcare information system developed in Australia.

Five Community Health agencies have now gone live with TrakCare under the Victorian government’s $360 million HealthSMART program. A further seven Victorian agencies are currently implementing TrakCare with go-lives scheduled each month between now and the end of the year. Another ten agencies have also now committed to implement TrakCare by the end of 2009, which will bring the total number to 22.

Benefits to agencies which have implemented TrakCare include efficiency gains, improved client experience and better resource allocation to meet current and future community health needs. Expected benefits include improved healthcare outcomes through preventative health initiatives and information sharing throughout the Victorian health system.

“We realised those business benefits and benefits for clients very early on,” said Clare Amies, CEO of Western Region Health Centre, the first agency to implement TrakCare under HealthSMART with 13 different sites around inner and outer Melbourne. “TrakCare is already leading to efficiency gains, with improved coordination of resources such as language interpreters.”

Closely following Bendigo, Inner South Community Health Services (ISCHS) became the third site to implement a new Client Management System under the HealthSMART project. ISCHS employs 180 care providers and operates from four locations, covering the inner suburbs of Melbourne, offering a broad range of community health services.

MonashLink, the fourth Community Health agency to roll out TrakCare across Victoria, delivers services from four main sites and various outreach locations. Services provided to approximately 14,500 clients include physiotherapy, dietetics, counselling, podiatry, speech therapy, drug and alcohol services, community health nursing, dental services, pediatric services and occupational therapy.

ISIS Primary Care is the fifth Community Health agency to benefit from the HealthSMART CMS Project. Operating from six main sites, ISIS Primary Care is the result of an amalgamation of Brimbank, Westgate and Wyndham community health services, and is the largest provider of community health service in the Western Metropolitan Region.
