Lockheed Martin Canada is Systems Integrator On Project That Connects Up To 2,500 Healthcare Providers
Orlando, Fla. —February 25 , 2008— InterSystems Corporation today announced that implementation of its Ensemble integration platform within the high-profile Canadian Forces Health Information System (CFHIS) program is complete.
Lockheed Martin Canada – the systems integrator for the CFHIS program which will support information sharing among 2,500 clinic-based Canadian Forces healthcare providers nationwide – implemented Ensemble-based interfaces for the initiative’s administrative and clinical applications using InterSystems Ensemble® as the integration platform. Ensemble has been ranked number one for integration engines for the last two years by KLAS Enterprises, which provides independent measurement and reporting on vendor performance in the healthcare technology industry.
The CFHIS projectis a 10-year $63M CDN program. An estimated 85,000 regular and reserve force personnel worldwide are served by the system. The announcement about completing the application interface milestone came during the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society’s 2008 annual conference and exhibition.
Lockheed Martin developers completely replaced existing interfaces that were built on a legacy SeeBeyond eGate platform in a matter of months.
“Replacing a critical system of the size and complexity of the CFHIS is always a major challenge,” said Jeet Sodhi, Lockheed Martin’s program manager. “Adding to that challenge was the need to provide the Canadian Forces a system that is easy to use and can be integrated quickly.” The Ensemble-based system with new interfaces has had no downtime since going live.
“The success of the CFHIS project is another illustration of how InterSystems’ work with government healthcare programs parallels our success with healthcare organizations outside of the government sector,” said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems Vice President of Strategic Planning. “We highly value our partnership with Lockheed Martin and we appreciate the opportunity to support them in providing technology that enables quality care delivery to CDN military personnel at the various medical clinics.”
