Founded in 1978, the University of Hildesheims enrollment includes approximately 4000. The Universitys courses of study focus on three main areas: Educational and Social Sciences, Cultural Sciences and Aesthetic Communication and Information and Communication Sciences. Thirteen different programs of study belong to these fields. The support of distance learning (currently about 2500 students) as well as the newly introduced Bachelor study course "Information Management and Information Technology" belong to the special services provided by the University of Hildesheim.
The University uses Caché in the Data Modeling lecture within the Information Management and Information Technology (IMIT) program, which is held this winter semester (2001/2002). The students learn about the capabilities of object-oriented modeling and post-relational databases. Also, the students create class hierarchies and use generated databases during the exercises. In this course, the students are introduced to the use and concepts of Caché, including web connection capabiliteis.
