Founded in 1419, ALMA MATER ROSTOCHIENSIS is one of the oldest Universities of Germany and the oldest instution in the eastern sea area. Today, Rostock University incorporates eight faculties grouping even more institutes and clinics. Currently, almost 12,000 students are enrolled, amidst them over 400 international students from over 80 countries. They are matched with about 3100 staff at the school of medicine and about 1600 staff in the other faculties.
The Institute of Informatics will use Caché in their teaching of "software engineering" and "Enterprise-Oriented IT Technologies" in the core studies of IT. Further projects and forms of cooperation undergo current evaluation.
