The University of Franche Comté is one of the 15 largest universities in France, with over twenty thousand students studying in six major departments, 1,000 Lecturers and Professors, and 110 Research Fellows and Technicians.
Located between Burgundy and Switzerland, the University is located in a traditionally dairy and wine-producing region, which today includes such industries as automotive and railway (Peugeot cars and motorcycles, and high speed trains are manufactured here), metalworks and foundries, electric and electronic equipment and microtechnologies.
