Greetings!

As the InterSystems Campus Program  continues to grow, it's exciting to have more of our partners reach out to our InterSystems Campus Team for assistance building relationships with local colleges and universities.

Here's an example:
John Armstrong, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Lead Horse Technologies in Junction City, Kansas, USA, was looking for more students and recent graduates with Caché knowledge and experience. He contacted us to see how he could form a partnership with two local campuses to help them incorporate Caché into their curriculum. We suggested he start by meeting with the Computer Science departments at Cloud Community College and
Kansas State University to gauge their interest. That's all it took to get the project started! He met with both institutions to discuss Caché and his ideas for an internship program. They were enthusiastic about working with Lead Horse Technologies and incorporating Caché into their course offerings. They just needed a strategy in place.

The Strategy
The Campus team was excited to hear how committed the two institutions were to adding Caché to their curriculum in the Fall.  We knew we had to act fast to take advantage of the summer to educate the professors and other faculty members on Caché. The InterSystems Campus team went to work to coordinate training, and a trainer is now scheduled to deliver Caché training in July to faculty members of both institutions alongside some of the Lead Horse Technology team in Kansas. Once the course is complete, the two campuses and Lead Horse Technologies will meet again to create a plan for implementation, including what courses will be taught at each school. Cloud Community College has a two year associate program and Kansas State University has a four year bachelor program in computer science. Lead Horse Technologies will work with the two institutions to determine at what stage of the program it would be appropriate to recruit interns. In addition to providing free Caché licenses and support, the InterSystems Campus team will assist with the course implementations as needed.
