Welcome to Pulse, the new InterSystems healthcare blog!
InterSystems is rooted in the academic and research community of Cambridge, MA. Our global headquarters is next door to MIT. We are two subway stops away from Harvard Square. We are surrounded by life sciences and healthcare leaders and world-class biotech research institutes. We are across the Charles River from Massachusetts General Hospital, which we can see from our windows.
We are, quite literally, surrounded by continuous technological innovation and debate about policy, education, and healthcare. That makes it pretty natural for us to expand the conversation to our customers, partners and friends.
We collaborate with healthcare providers all over the world. They work under a variety of payment mechanisms. Some are encouraging the growth in fee-for-service medicine even while, in the U.S., there is a movement in the opposite direction. Some have been pioneers in creating centers of excellence, or in sharing health information nationwide. All are grappling with the growth of chronic conditions, increased longevity, and a desire to improve healthcare outcomes and value. And all are looking at how information technology can be part of the solution.
Here on Pulse, we’ll be posting thoughts from a number of contributors including InterSystems team members, industry thought leaders, healthcare providers, business partners, and, we hope, you. Basically, if it is a topic that connects healthcare and technology in some way, it’s fair game for this conversation: standards, policies, challenges, triumphs, oddities, new ideas or whatever. We want your comments on posts of particular interest, either on the blog, or through social media. If you have an idea for a post, send it our way.
InterSystems is about connecting care. Pulse is about connecting ideas. We look forward to connecting with you.
