InterSystems Recognized as a Challenger in 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., November 8, 2017—Among 11 vendors, InterSystems has been recognized as one of only two companies as a Challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems from the industry analyst firm Gartner for its Caché high-performance database. This Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems evaluates companies based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute, and InterSystems has been positioned in the annual report since its 2013 inception.

A Gartner Magic Quadrant is a culmination of research in a specific market, giving readers a wide-angle view of the relative positions of the market's competitors.

Caché is used by 6 of the world’s 10 largest investment banks, as well as in healthcare, retail, and beyond.

InterSystems also holds an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5.0 in the Operational Database Management (DBMS) Software market on Gartner’s Peer Insights review site as of November 7, 2017, based on 20 reviews.

“Service and support when upgrading to new versions has always been great,” said one reviewer on the Peer Insights site, a director in the finance industry. “Service and responsiveness rank very high with InterSystems.”

“We feel that this year’s Gartner Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems recognizes the power of our data platform, its functionality and flexibility, as well as our commitment to customer support,” said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems Vice President, Strategy. “With the recent introduction of InterSystems IRIS Data Platform, we plan to expand that even further, offering existing and new customers robust technologies to create mission-critical, data-rich solutions.”

Announced in September, InterSystems IRIS is a complete, unified solution that provides a comprehensive and consistent set of capabilities spanning data management, interoperability, transaction processing, and analytics. The data platform will be available in early 2018.
