How COVID-19 is Highlighting Shortcomings in the Supply Chain

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing a major shift in consumer behaviour, creating problems in supply chains that are leaving retail, consumer packaged goods and manufacturing organisations globally challenged to respond rapidly to meet these changes.

Research by InterSystems found that COVID-19 made technology-specific supply chain challenges worse for 76% of these businesses.

The biggest challenges:

  • 44% are experiencing a lack of flexibility in existing processes
  • 40% lack accurate end-to-end visibility and reporting
  • 40% have difficulty performing analytics to support the business
