Beijing, China, Mar. 9, 2020 – InterSystems, a global leader in information technology platforms for health, business, and government applications, announced today that the company has donated medical supplies to aid front-line medical staff, in order to support Chinas fight against COVID-19. The supplies were urgently arranged from overseas and have been arriving in China in recent days and have already been delivered into use to fight the epidemic. The donation was mainly 4000 N95 masks (or the equivalent of NIOSH N95 masks), which were donated directly to four hospitals in Hubei Province.
In the COVID-19 case, InterSystems deeply appreciates the rapid responses and efficient counter-measures adopted by the Chinese government and people, and shows great respect and support to the partners and customers who are fighting at the front-line. InterSystems is fully aware of its responsibilities and obligations as a part of the healthcare industry. In addition to making direct donations, InterSystems is also leveraging its technology as an information company, making full use of high-tech tools to aid and support the battle against the epidemics in China and all over the world. InterSystems recently released global functionality for its TrakCare unified healthcare information system to effectively screen and support patients with COVID-19. The functionality uses World Health Organisation (WHO) guidance, and a link to the COVID-19 Global Cases tracking app provided by the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering in the US, to provide the medical staff with more information needed to screen and support the COVID-19 patients.
