What It Means To Be Leading as a Challenger

This year, InterSystems was named a Challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems. We are honored by this recognition and proud to have appeared on this Magic Quadrant since its start in 2013.

And yet, what is a challenger? Gartner defines it their own way, but we take a different tack: we challenge the market, we challenge the status quo, and we challenge ourselves to deliver excellent results for our customers and partners.

Our data platform is used by six of the world’s 10 largest investment banks, as well as in healthcare, retail, and beyond. InterSystems also holds an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5.0 in the Operational Database Management Software (DBMS) market on Gartner’s Peer Insights review site.

At InterSystems, we factor customer and partner needs into the development of new solutions – and, in many instances, they are part of the process. We take the long view and design solutions that address both current and future needs. As a private, profitable company, the only audience we have to answer to is our customers and they are our top priority.

As we launch InterSystems IRIS Data Platform, we will continue this commitment. While the new data platform offers some incredibly robust features, a few things have not changed; these include our best-of-breed support, our commitment to excellence and the empowerment of our customers and partners: build something powerful with our platform, and we have your back. That’s why we refer to InterSystems as The Power behind What Matters: what matters most is what customers do with our technology.

And customers are excited about where we are taking the data platform next. Our Vice President of Strategy, Paul Grabscheid, sums it up best: “With the recent introduction of InterSystems IRIS Data Platform, we plan to expand our commitment to customer support even further, offering existing and new customers robust technologies to create mission-critical, data-rich solutions.”

There are great things in store for our customers and InterSystems IRIS Data Platform very soon. Stay tuned!
