Advisory: Portal Login Failures with HealthShare Federated SSO

This problem affects the following products:

  • All HealthShare® Solution products, version: 2022.2 • 2023.1 • 2023.2

Requirements:

  • Federated SSO and user with a recent version of the Edge or Brave web browser

Recent versions of some supported web browsers now send an OPTIONS request to HealthShare. Affected versions of HealthShare do not support the handling of the OPTIONS browser request for OAuth2.0 client pages. HealthShare treats the OPTIONS request as a GET request, which fails, resulting in failed HealthShare Federated SSO login attempts to CSP/Zen pages, like the Management Portal. This issue does not affect login attempts to the Navigation Application or any other responsive HealthShare user interface.
The issue has been resolved in:

  • the HealthShare 2023.2.1 maintenance release
  • HealthShare versions 2024.1, 2024.2 and 2025.1
  • all future versions of HealthShare

Customers on older versions may choose to:

  • Upgrade
  • Disable Federated SSO for the Management Portal
  • Contact the Worldwide Response Center (WRC) to request an ad hoc patch for the following:
    • DP-430237
    • DP-432970
    • DP-432971
