After two MPIIDs are linked together in an EMPI system such as HealthShare® Patient Index or InterSystems EMPI™, care plans under one of the linked patients may no longer be visible to the clinical end user. Note that the plan data still remains stored within Care Community. This represents a potential patient safety issue.
You can mitigate the risk by requesting and installing the ad hoc patches listed below. This will correct the behavior, and prevent linkage from blocking access to a care plan.
The correction for this defect will be included in all future product releases. It is also available for older versions via ad hoc change file (patch) or full kit distribution by contacting the Worldwide Response Center (WRC) and requesting:
