Slow data is still killing business - check out our webinar

More than 75 percent of organizations believe untimely data has inhibited business opportunities. That is according to the results of an InterSystems survey of IT professionals unveiled this week that highlighted the cost of slow data transfers on business opportunities. It seems like real-time analytics and decisioning has been a topic for more than a decade, yet this research still calls out a discrepancy between market need and a readily available solution. Do you know what opportunities your company is missing out on?

Conducted by IDC, the survey revealed that organizations using extract, transform and load (ETL) and Changed Data Capture (CDC) technologies are scrambling to keep pace with today’s need for real-time data analysis, ultimately hindering business opportunities and efficiency. What was once considered fast is just not fast enough anymore. With many organizations today still using ETL data transfer approaches, 27 percent of survey respondents indicated that slow data has negatively affected productivity and agility and 25 percent report it negatively impacts their ability to conduct analysis.

So, what’s the solution? A great first step for many is to consolidate database operations by combining transactional and analytic capabilities into a single DBMS solution with embedded interoperability, integration and analytical capabilities. In fact, the study revealed 37 percent of respondents are evaluating new database platform technologies, and more than 90 percent think consolidating these features are quite valuable.

Please join us on Tuesday, August 08, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. EDT to hear IDC's Research Vice President of Data Management Software, Carl Olofson, and InterSystems Director, Data Platforms, Julie Lockner discuss these findings and how the "third platform" - a wave of data technologies ranging from mobile to cloud to the Internet of Things - is affecting organization's strategy and ability to execute.
