Scott Gnau joined InterSystems in 2019 as Vice President of Data Platforms, overseeing the development, management, and sales of the InterSystems IRIS® family of data platforms. In 2026, Gnau was promoted to Senior Vice President and, in addition to InterSystems IRIS, oversees InterSystems HealthShare. Scott also works directly with the founder on the future of InterSystems data platform offerings.
Gnau brings more than 30 years of experience in the data management space helping lead technology and data architecture initiatives for enterprise-level organizations. He joined InterSystems from HortonWorks, where he served as chief technology officer. Prior to Hortonworks, Gnau spent two decades at Teradata in increasingly senior roles, including serving as president of Teradata Labs.
Gnau is a founding advisory board member of the MIT Generative AI Impact Consortium, contributing to efforts focused on responsible AI adoption and real-world implementation in healthcare. He is also a board member of the United States’ first animal shelter - Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia. Gnau holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University.
