Advisory: HealthShare Provider Directory Global Occupies Large Amount of Storage

The problem affects the following versions of HealthShare Provider Directory:

• All versions up to and including 2025.2

Requirements

  • Limited available Provider Directory storage space
  • Large numbers of updates to Master Records or Source Records
  • Large numbers of extended data fields in data model

In HealthShare Provider Directory, the HSMOD.MDM.MasterHistoryEventD global stores data related to Master Record and Source Record updates. For customers with large numbers of these records, or who populate a large number of data fields in their data model, this global may grow very large and consume a large proportion of available storage. Growth of this global over time could lead to resource exhaustion, resulting in an unusable system. To reduce the storage footprint, the HSMOD.MDM.MasterHistoryEventD global has been compressed to a new format while retaining all data.

The new format of this global is implemented in HSPD-11325, which will be included in version 2026.1 of Provider Directory and all future product releases. Upon upgrade to version 2026.1 or higher, a compression process will run automatically to reformat existing data. Provider Directory will then utilize the new compressed format going forward.

The storage compression correction is also available as an ad hoc patch for older versions of Provider Directory. Affected customers should check the size of this global on their system and contact the InterSystems Worldwide Response Center (WRC) to request the correction if they are concerned about the global size.
