Since founding InterSystems in 1978, Terry Ragon has led the company to worldwide prominence in the database, interoperability, and healthcare application markets. In 2026, Mr. Ragon announced an evolution in his role that would refocus his efforts on building the next generation of data platform.
Mr. Ragon is a life-term member of the MIT Corporation, the governing body of MIT (the “Board of Trustees”), and was Co-Chair of the MIT Campaign. He is also on the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows as well as on the Global Advisory Council of Harvard. He is a Trustee of the Mass General Brigham health system and served as Honorary Co-Chair of the Mass General Campaign.
In 2008, Mr. Ragon helped create the Ragon Institute, a joint research center of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. The vision of the Ragon Institute is to “harness the immune system,” and its immediate objective is the creation of a vaccine for HIV.
