ETHAN allows EMT and paramedic first responders to connect non-emergency patients with consulting physicians via live video chat. The program enables instant triage of each case to determine who should be rushed to the ED and who simply needs a taxi ride to an outpatient clinic. Powered by data from Greater Houston Healthconnect and built by J2 Interactive on InterSystems HealthShare, ETHAN coordinates emergency care delivery and reduces costs for providers and payers throughout the fourth largest city in the United States.
