Bring your laptop to the Experience Lab and engage with our technologies in a whole new way!
Throughout the Summit, we will offer “experiences” focusing on the newest of our new technologies. Each experience will start with a brief introduction, outlining a particular task. Then you will be set free to complete the task, using one or more of our new technologies as you do so. Each experience should take about 45 minutes to complete. Sales engineers and other experts will be on hand to offer advice and assistance.
The Experience Lab is located in the Tech Exchange (Springs Ballroom Salon F&G.) Space in the Experience Lab is limited, so we will ask you to sign up in advance for the experience you want. Experiences will be repeated to allow flexibility in scheduling.
Build Your Own Cloud
Monday, 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM
Tuesday, 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Increasingly, application developers are taking advantage of the scalability and flexibility of deploying in the cloud. This experience focuses on the process of quickly defining and creating a multi-node infrastructure in a top IaaS provider. Using InterSystems’ new cloud provisioning tool, learners will provision a multi-node infrastructure, connect to the new instances, and run commands. Then (because often there isn’t a permanent need for resources) they will un-provision all of the instances.
Hands-On With Spark
Monday, 2:30 PM – 3:15 PM
Tuesday, 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
Apache Spark is an open-source, cluster-computing framework that is gaining popularity for analytics, particularly predictive analytics and machine learning. This experience allows learners to use InterSystems’ connector for Apache Spark to analyze data in a multi-node sharded architecture. Through hands-on exercises, they will analyze data using a Zeppelin notebook, load additional data, and see how their data is incorporated in the analytics.
RESTful FHIR & Messaging in Health Connect
Monday, 3:30 PM – 4:15 PM
Tuesday, 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
Wednesday, 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
In this experience, you will use Health Connect messaging and FHIR data models to transform and search for clinical data. In the main exercise, you will use Health Connect’s off-the-shelf components to transform an HL7 C-CDA document into discrete FHIR resources, POST those resources to a FHIR server, and then use a REST testing tool to search for individual pieces of clinical data. In the bonus exercise, we will show you how to bring new life to old HL7 V2 messaging by transforming it into FHIR messages.
